"The mother is everything—she is our consolation in sorrow, our hope in misery, and our strength in weakness. She is the source of love, mercy, sympathy and forgiveness... The sun is the mother of the earth and gives its nourishment of heat; it never leaves the universe at night until it has put the earth to sleep... and the mother, the prototype of all existence, is the eternal spirit, full of beauty and love."

Mother, perhaps the most coveted gift of ALLAH ..

Maybe it's her eyes,
Such lovely eyes,
That see into the center
Of my Soul,
And, filled with faith,
Help lighten
All my burdens
With their caring;

Maybe it's her lips,
Such tender lips,
That kiss my tear-stained cheek
And heal my hurt,
That warmly smile
As we talk,
And I am strengthened
By their sharing;

Maybe it's her ears,
Such sensitive ears,
That hear beyond my voice
Into my heart,
And are never closed,
But always open
To my thoughts
And deepest needs;

Maybe it's her hands,
Such gentle hands,
That work and weather life
Without complaint,
That lovingly forever
Seem to bless
My mortal days
With kindly deeds;

Maybe it's all of these
And even so much more,
That make my own
Dear Mother
So easy to adore...

Without her, my world would come to an end.
